Which is the healthier option?

Ask anyone who loves coffee and desserts what coffee drink tastes more like a treat than coffee and they’ll tell you it’s the frappuccino. With many options out there, which one is the best?

Out of my own curiosity, I decided to investigate. I checked out the nutrition of caramel frappuccinos/frappes at Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Dairy Queen and McDonald’s, and here is what I found.

16 oz. Caramel Frappuccino from Starbucks:
410 calories
15g fat
66g carbs
0g fiber
4g protein
0mg sodium

16 oz. McCafe Frappe Caramel from McDonald’s:
550 calories
22 g fat
78g carbs
0g fiber
9g protein
160mg sodium

16 oz. Frozen Caramel Coffee Coolatta from Dunkin Donuts:
330 calories
4g fat
72g carbs
0g fiber
5g protein
90mg sodium

16 oz. Caramel Moolatte from Dairy Queen:
520 calories
16g fat
88g carbs
0g fiber
8g protein
210mg sodium

If you’re looking for the healthier option (and I mean in comparison to the other options), go for the Frozen Caramel Coffee Coolatta from Dunkin Donuts. It has the least calories and fat.

But if you thought frappuccinos were more of a coffee drink than a treat, think again. The calorie count on these frozen coffee confections are close to that of a meal.
