You may recognize Summer Montabone from her days as a professional fitness athlete. The Jackson Township resident not only won the overall National Physique Committee Ohio State Fitness & Figure Championship and the “Tall Class” of the NPC in Texas in 2004, but she also has appeared in national fitness magazines and on DVDs as a model.
William C. Shivers describes his job at Huntington Bank as “chief inspiration officer.” “I want to inspire our team to reach new levels,” said Shivers, whose official title is president of Huntington’s Canton-Mahoning Valley Region.
Dori Heck was a small beach town girl from Los Angeles living in New York City when she decided to move to Massillon. “I honestly had no idea what I was getting involved in,” Heck recalls of the decision to move to her husband’s hometown in 2001. “I knew I wanted to have more than one kid and wanted to stay home with them. Massillon allowed us to do that. It was lot cheaper than New York City.”

By her own description, 2015 was a “rough year” for Laura Weisgarber. Highlighted two years ago in The Canton Repository’s “Brave & Beautiful” section, the Jackson Township resident saw her job move out of town just days before she lost her mother to Alzheimer’s disease. A few weeks later, she was diagnosed with breast cancer—for the second time in the years since her battle against Hodgkins disease when she was a freshman at Ohio State University.
Para M. Jones is a Stark County girl through and through. She was born here, attended college at the University of Mount Union and has spent most of her career living and working in a place she’s proud to call home.
