Canton Importing Co. | Behind the Food

It was 1991 and Nick Regas, then 24, had graduated from law school at Case Western Reserve University. Working for an attorney in Cleveland, he knew a law career was not for him. As fate would have it, his father had just been talking about selling his business, Canton Importing Co., a neighborhood deli and grocery at 1136 Wertz Avenue NW. “I called dad up and told him, I’ll buy the business.’ ”

Deli Ohio

The perfect spot to grab lunch in downtown Canton is Deli Ohio. Try a soup and sandwich combo, such as this half Herbivore sandwich with a cup of Curry Carrot Bisque served with house croutons, chips and a pickle. Add a baked from scratch cranberry oatmeal cookie.

1899 Indoor Golf | In the Biz

A causal invitation from one friend to another has resulted in the creation of one of the area’s most unique new businesses. Brian Lindenbaum and John-Michael Speelman are co-founders and co-owners of 1899 Indoor Golf, which opened in November. Located at 4700 Everhard Road NW in Jackson Township, 1899 Golf has found its niche: Providing a year-around, weatherproof venue for golfers.
