The Canton Artists League reception for its biennial art exhibit was held at the Canton Museum of Art in April. The League is an affiliate of the museum and has been in existence for more than 20 years.
The Priests held a benefit concert at the Palace Theatre in March. The event brought together people from all 21 parishes in Stark County, with more than 1,000 attendees. All proceeds from the concert benefit Holy Cross Academy Catholic Schools.
The Massillon Women’s Club sponsored one of it’s major projects, the Rose Luncheon, on June 3rd and 4th at the historically significant Five Oaks Mansion.
Canton Fine Arts Associates hosted its March luncheon and program featuring “Dining with the Presidents: America’s Elegant Dinnerware” by Stark County Commissioner Janet Weir Creighton.
The Massillon Woman’s Club sponsored its Daffodil Luncheon in April at the Massillon Woman’s Club. The program featured fashions by Chico’s and Anne Marie’s Jewelry.
Canton Fine Arts Associates sponsored its February luncheon and program featuring “The Art of Collage” by Gail Wetherall-Sack. An award-winning artist, teacher and therapist, Gail explained the collage process and led participants in making their own self-inspired collages.
The Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted 900 business and community leaders at its 101st annual dinner at Canton Memorial Civic Center in February.
The fourth annual Friends of Stark Parks Roarin’ 20s Casino Night was held at Five Oaks mansion in Massillon in March. More than 100 guests attended the event, and approximately $10,000 was raised to benefit the Wildlife Conservation Center at Sippo Lake Park.
The 2015 Greater Stark County Athena Leadership Awards took place at the University Center at Kent State at Stark. The awards were presented by Women’s Impact, Inc.
