Local artist Tim Carmany provided a special February program at the Canton Museum of Art for the members and guests of Canton Fine Arts Associates. Owner of the Hub Art Factory in downtown Canton, Carmany demonstrated his unique reverse glass painting technique for the audience. Decorative theme centerpieces and a catered lunch also were included at the event.
In February, the Stark County District Library hosted a small soiree/open house at the Canton Brewing Co. to say farewell to Tena Wilson, as she moves on to the Cleveland Public Library, and to welcome the interim executive director, Jean Duncan McFarren. Wilson was honored with a proclamation from the mayor for her service.
My preferred brunch food usually falls in the pancakes/waffles/French toast category, so when I stumbled on a recipe for blueberry pecan pancake bread pudding, I had to try it. The concept is similar to French toast and cinnamon roll casseroles I’ve made before. You may recognize Summer Montabone from her days as a professional fitness athlete. The Jackson Township resident not only won the overall National Physique Committee Ohio State Fitness & Figure Championship and the “Tall Class” of the NPC in Texas in 2004, but she also has appeared in national fitness magazines and on DVDs as a model.
