I’ve seen a lot of jokes on social media about how people are using ice cream as a coping mechanism during the coronavirus pandemic. So for this month’s restaurant review, we decided to try out a couple of our local ice cream shops because SAME.
Enjoy traditional Italian cuisine at Papa Bear’s in Jackson Township. Choose from all kinds of pasta; soups; salads; appetizers; seafood, chicken, beef and pork and veal dishes; sandwiches; special breads; calzones; sides; and special dishes, including baked ziti, ravioli, linguine, cavatelli, gnocchi, tortellini and more.
Located in Canton, Smoke the Burger Joint is the place to go for burgers. Fresh Angus beef, low-smoked over hickory wood, gives the patties at Smoke a particularly flavorful sense of umami. The menu at Smoke is more than just burgers. Stop in for a smokehouse grilled cheese, all beef hot dogs, wings, seafood, chili, soups, salads and more.
With seven locations throughout the area, Grinders Above & Beyond offers dine-in, carryout and catering. Stop in for lunch or dinner, and choose from an overflowing menu sure to please any guest. Get soup and a croissant or try a salad, wrap, flatbread, burger, pizza or entree. Grinders also has a hearty menu of sides.
Offering a menu full of burgers, wings, appetizers, handhelds, pizzas, salads, plenty of entrees, a large drink menu and more, Loby’s Bar & Grille in Jackson Township has something for everyone. Stop in at this sports bar and catch a game with your meal.
With a location in Canton and another in North Canton, El Rincon is the perfect pick for chips and salsa and a margarita on a hot summer day. The menu is overflowing with traditional Mexican fare. Stop in soon.
The perfect spot to grab lunch in downtown Canton is Deli Ohio. Try a soup and sandwich combo, such as this half Herbivore sandwich with a cup of Curry Carrot Bisque served with house croutons, chips and a pickle. Add a baked from scratch cranberry oatmeal cookie.
I’ll admit I walked into this review a little confused. Canal Grille has great online reviews. Its menu boasts pages of delicious sounding options—from Asian entrees to seafood to pasta to steak. It was reader’s choice for family restaurant in About’s 2017 Local Faves.
Already a bright light on the downtown Canton nightlife scene, Star Fronimo enjoyed quick success when her namesake bar-restaurant opened in May 2016. More than two years later, Fronimo’s Downtown at 315 Cleveland Avenue NW is reliably lively and frequently packed, especially on weekends.
