2018 Summer Kids Movie Series—June 18, 25, July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, August 6: The Canton Palace Theatre and the Canton Professional Educators’ Association (CPEA) present the eight-week movie series Summer Kids Movies. The movies will begin at 1 p.m., with doors opening at 12:30 p.m.  Admission is $1, and group reservations are available by calling 330-454-8172 until 4 p.m. the Friday before the movie. All tickets are sold at the door the day of the movie showing. The schedule includes “Ferdinand” on June 18, “Despicable Me 3” on June 25, “Early Man” on July 2, “The Smurfs: Lost Village” on July 9, “Emoji Movie” on July 16, “Kung Fu Panda 3” on July 23, “Elf” on July 30 and “Wonder” on August 6.

2018 Angel Auction, May 11: Mark your calendars to join the Aultman Women’s Board for a safari through the plains of Africa during the 2018 Angel Auction, “Splendors of the Serengeti.” The 49th annual event will be under the direction of auction co-chairs Jen Clark and Ann McCabe. Enjoy an evening of fabulous live entertainment, a delicious catered dinner and hundreds of unique live and silent auction items. There will be two exciting raffle packages available this year. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Canton Civic Center. Reservations are $175 per person or $350 per couples. For more information, call 330-363-6198.

Join more than 10,000 runners from 48 states and 12 countries at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon. Events include the Draft Day 5K, a fun run/walk that features a high five from a Hall of Famer at the finish line, the full marathon, half marathon and the five person team relay. All Sunday races finish inside of Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. There is a welcome party on April 26; a health and fitness expo and NFL Draft viewing on April 27; packet pick-up, Draft Day 5K, awards ceremony and health and fitness expo on April 28; and the marathon, half marathon, team relay and post race tailgate festival on April 29.

Tadmor Shrine Circus Mar. 23-25 Come see the circus at the Canton Memorial Civic Center. Performances are at 6:30 p.m. March 23, 10 a.m., 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. March 24 and 1 and 5:30 p.m. March 25. Performances have both reserved seating and general admission. Reserved seat tickets are $30 for VIP and $20 for regular reserved seats. General admission tickets are $17 for adults, $12 for children 3 to 12 and free for children 2 and younger.

GV Winter Crawl Feb. 25 Escape to Gervasi Vineyard for the winter wine and beer crawl from 1 to 5 p.m. Stroll the beautiful Tuscan-inspired 55-acre estate and taste award-winning Gervasi wine and beer perfectly paired with an appetizer bite. Light Up Downtown: Enjoy 14 blocks of free family fun in downtown Canton from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. December 7. All of your favorite holiday characters will visit from winter wonderlands, and it is all brought to life at Central Plaza. Enjoy the stage show at 5:45 p.m. There will be fireworks immediately following the stage show.

Christkindl Markt: Now an annual Canton tradition, Christkindl Markt is a juried fine arts and fine crafts show with a holiday theme that features more than 100 artists and artisans from around the world. That Little Italian Kitchen will offer delicious cuisine to hungry shoppers. Celebrity guests Robin Swoboda (November 10) and Fox 8’s Andre Bernier (November 11) will be there at 2 p.m. with special programming. There also will be strolling violins, Santa Claus and more. Admission is $7, and children 12 and younger get in free. The event is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. November 10 and 11 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. November 12 at the Canton Cultural Center for the Arts. Run now wine later race: Experience the beauty of an autumn morning as you run through Gervasi Vineyard, passing the grapes ripe for harvest, orchards and more. Traverse the Middlebranch Trail through wetlands and forest, loop around the GlenOak campus and finish at Gervasi Vineyard where you can enjoy food and beverage. This 4.5 mile trail run/walk is sure to please. It all starts at 10 a.m. October 7. Registration rates depend on when you register and how many people you register. Check the site for more details.
