Here in Northeast Ohio, we have only so much time to enjoy pleasant outdoor weather. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, with a few coveted weeks before and after, we do all that we can under blue skies and starry nights to make the most of the season.

Gardens need to be cultivated. Landscaping requires a watchful eye. Outdoor areas for cooking and entertaining call to their owners to be made more convenient, more modern and more beautiful. Where do we start? One good place to begin is on the pages of books that give us both inspiration and motivation to shape our surroundings to the needs of our lives.

Backyard ponds can provide a great opportunity for interesting photographs, from the wildlife they attract to the flowers that decorate the area. And since you have abundant light from the sun, you don’t have to have professional equipment to make dramatic photos.
