When collaborating with another entity on a special section, things can get tricky. When collaborating with another entity plus 20 high-achieving, busy individuals, things are guaranteed to get tricky.
Putting together a monthly publication has its ups and downs. I won’t lie; it is a lot of fun. But it’s also a lot of work. Who comes up with the feature ideas? Where do we get our inspiration? Where do we go from there? How do we stay relevant?
Some of my favorite days are photo shoot days. Getting out of the office is always nice. And getting to see an idea come to life is the best part. Usually, I just assign photographs to our photo department and wait to see the final result. Being on location and essentially directing the shoot adds another level of fun to the process.
Everyone loves the Feast Awards issue. And I mean everyone! You may remember in the past, we chose several dishes from different local restaurants to feature in the issue. Last year, we turned it into a competition. As with any competition, there is judging. That’s kinda why we changed the game—we wanted a chance to taste-test before featuring them in the magazine.
