I do what I do because I care. My community is most important to me, and the arts are the heart of a growing successful community. I hope all the hard work by volunteers will stimulate interest in companies that are looking for a place to call home and will help provide employment opportunities.
As a judge and a community volunteer, my focus is the well-being and success of our children. Having worked in this field for quite a while, experience has shown me that we are much more successful if we work with children before they get into trouble — because once a child’s life has come apart, it is very difficult to put it back together.
As a young child, I loved to visit the Stark County Courthouse. So started my fascination with the law and with the judiciary. By the time I entered law school, there was one ultimate goal — to be a judge.
There is a saying that if you find something you love to do, you’ll never have to work another day of your life. I’ve found out that helping students find ways to pursue their wildest dreams and pursue post secondary education rarely feels like work.
I was raised in a Christian family with a legacy of community service. I use my gifts to help strengthen Stark County’s youth, young professionals and families. My passion and focus is committed to the children, young professionals and families of Stark County.
In terms of community involvement, I have been working with the Pike Township Zoning Commission for a couple of years now. My family has lived in the Pike Township area a long time (in fact, I live in a house that has been in my family for well over 100 years).
I have two passions — the business of marketing and communications and the feeding of the soul through art. I’ve been in marketing for nearly 30 years and loved every moment of it. The challenge of creating an environment that shapes people’s thoughts and opinions and leads people to action is exciting.
