A handsome Victorian house built in 1901 houses one of the liveliest lunch spots in Canal Fulton in its former living room. The Dragonfly Tea Room, which opened in 2011 at 116 Canal Street S, is popular for its menu of what owner Tiffany Craney calls “Southern tea house cooking.” The cozy setting, with lace curtains and loads of teapots, has plenty of period charm. And the Dragonfly offers popular monthly events for kids.
Tucked inside the northwest corner of Stark County is one of the area’s most interesting and historic little towns. The Canal Fulton area first was known as Milan in 1814, and 12 years later, Fulton was platted.
Before opening the Dragonfly Tea Room in Canal Fulton, Tiffany Craney visited tearooms across Ohio. “My sister and I took the whole summer and went to them all,” Craney said. “I wrote papers on them — it was part of my research for my business plan.”
