What’s this all about? | Introducing Roam

After overwhelming feedback from you about our April “Get Out!” issue, with features on travel and staycations in greater Northeast Ohio, we realized that our readers are craving stories about the great arts, entertainment, food, dining, style and events happening just a short hour from home. Let About be your guide!

Here it is. Our first issue featuring the new “Roam” section. I can hear some of you now … “Wait a minute! This is About magazine, Stark County’s premier lifestyle magazine. What’s this hooey about other communities?”

It’s a fair point. Isn’t About, supposed to be, well, about Stark County?

Absolutely.

But hear me out. Stark County is a wonderful place to live, work and enjoy time with family and friends. It has treasures aplenty, and we’ve spent six years showcasing the people and places that make living here just tops. If it’s up to me, we’ll spend another 60 doing the same.

While there’s no place like home, sometimes you gotta roam. That’s what we’re doing with this new monthly section.

For every reader who’s stumbled indecisively over dinner plans before a Tribe game; for those who have fallen in love with the local art scene and are hungry for more; and for those who simply want to know what our greater region has to offer, we present these few pages to help you navigate and discover.

This first issue is all about Cleveland with market guides for The Flea and West Side Market. You can scout out our recommendation for Meal of the Month at a gourmet diner in Cleveland Heights. And dive into the bonus edition of our “What 2 Do B4 Back2School” guide, designed for you and the kids with fun stops in Akron, Cleveland and beyond (see the Stark-only iteration on page 54).

I’d love to hear from you on what you think of our new section, and welcome suggestions for future destinations.

For now, enjoy this taste of what NEO has to offer.

Sincerely,
Jess Bennett
