Event spotlight: Holiday at Five Oaks

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Massillon Woman’s Club. The annual kickoff to the holiday season is set for Nov. 18.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Massillon Woman’s Club. The annual kickoff to the holiday season is set for Nov. 18.

“Holiday at Five Oaks” consists of several opportunities to view the historic home in all of its beautifully decorated holiday splendor.

All events are open to the public.
 Nov. 18: First Tea of Christmas. 11 a.m. Reservations required.

 Nov. 19 and Nov. 20: Champagne and candlelight dinner. 6:30 p.m. Reservations required.

 Nov. 20: Christmas Open House. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Features “cookie walk,” with homemade cookies for sale by the dozen. Cafe luncheon. No reservations required.

 Dec. 12: Open house. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Lunch, basket raffle and tour. No reservations required.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Homes, it is at 210 Fourth St. NE in Massillon. It was given to the Massillon Woman’s Club in remembrance of J. Walter McClymonds and Flora Russell McClymonds by their daughters, Edna McClymonds Wales and Ruth McClymonds Maitland, in 1924.
