What You’ll Need: Floral wire wreath or pine wreath (shown), deco mesh, pipe cleaners (in a coordinating color to the mesh), decorative ribbon, glue gun, scissors, craft mat, ornaments, poinsettias and other holiday embellishments, wooden or papier mache letter
Place and secure 12 to 16 pipe cleaners at 1” to 2” intervals around both the inner and outer portions of the wreath frame.
Secure by twisting firmly three times each and pull through to the front of your wreath. Use either a floral wire wreath or a pine wreath, as shown.
Roll out your deco mesh ribbon and attach to your frame using the pipe cleaners. Pinch one end of the ribbon, center the pinched portion on the pipe cleaner, and twist to hold in place. This should form a little “bubble” of mesh. If the bubble is uneven or appears flat, gently fluff it by bending it with your fingers. Continue all the way around the wreath until you are back to where you started. Make sure to do this on the inner and outer portions of the wreath.
Add decorative ribbon using the same pipe cleaner. Weave through by pinching and twisting again.
You can choose to leave two pieces as “tails” or cut them to run flush with the mesh.
Once all ribbon and mesh are attached and even, hide your pipe cleaners by folding them behind and pushing them through the back.
Start to add your decorative embellishments with a hot glue gun or floral wire.
Place decorative pieces throughout wreath first to pinpoint where you would like them to go, then go back and glue into place.
Finish by adjusting branches, mesh or ribbon to achieve desired look.
