Meredith Lemons and Alex Soduk say they were destined to be together. The couple’s paths first crossed while on separate vacations in Mexico. Though they didn’t officially meet at that time, they each were aware of the other group from Canton. So Meredith and Alex went back to their separate lives in Canton. Their paths crossed again many times once back in Ohio, they had mutual friends and frequented the same local hot spots. Two years after the Mexico trip, Alex asked Meredith on a date. It wasn’t until then they discovered they were on the same Mexico trip years before. “It was fate!” Meredith said.

The pair were married June 25 at the Lake Cable home of Lindsay and Brian Zimmerman, the bride’s sister and brother-in-law. A fiesta theme was carried throughout the wedding and ceremony, with bright colors, themed-food and decorations (including a citrus theme based off the bride’s maiden name: Lemons) — not to mention the sombreros and maracas! After the ceremony, the bridal party took a champagne cruise around Lake Cable while guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and “Sangria de Soduk.” The weather was a picture-perfect 75 degrees for the outdoor event for 160 people, and the relaxed atmosphere allowed guests to party well into the night. It almost goes without saying that the couple honeymooned where their paths first crossed at the Grand Palladium in Riviera Maya. “It was so special because we both had separate memories there, and this was our opportunity to make memories together,” Meredith said.
