The couple dated for 3 1/2 years before Joe popped the question October 13, 2013. They took a road trip to Nashville, Tennessee, to see their favorite band, Dr. Dog, in concert at the Ryman Auditorium. While videotaping their favorite song on her phone, Danielle saw Joe appear at the bottom of the screen. She looked down and saw him on one knee. It was perfect!
On the way home, she called her dad—Steve Coon—and asked him if he thought he could get the renovation of The Onesto finished by the following November. Although she was skeptical, he was so confident that he could have it ready, that they made the date official. It took every one of those days to get The Onesto finished and “wedding-ready.” Workers were putting the finishing touches on the ballroom the day before their wedding.
They tied the knot November 8, 2014. The wedding took place at Our Lady of Peace Parish in Canton. They had pictures taken at the Canton Club and had the reception at The Historic Onesto. Appetizers were from Tapas 218, Basil and Lucca, the main course was catered by the Canton Club, and the eight-tier wedding cake was from A Modern Day Cake. Danielle said, “I use the word cake loosely; I would actually call it a masterpiece. I almost felt guilty cutting into it!”
