Each vendor will serve three or four different food items. Wine, beer and other beverages will be available.
“There will be a little bit of everything and not all high-end,” said Maureen Ater, The Repository’s director of marketing.
She added that casual food such as hot dogs, as well as ethnic foods and desserts, will be among the fare. Eric Belden, sponsorship manager at the Chamber, said his group is excited by the idea of highlighting local eateries.
“It’s about getting folks downtown and showcasing all the great restaurants all around Stark County,” he said.
Plans for the day also include featuring local artists and bands.
“We’ll have bands playing throughout the day, providing background music,” said Ater. “And we’ve designed the event to work regardless of the weather.”
Admission to the event is free. Guests can purchase tickets that represent dollars to be spent at each booth. Discounted tickets are available in advance from Fishers Foods, the event’s major sponsor.
“This is a family event,” said Ater, “so bring your kids.”
