Rosie Fedorovich, a bartender for three and a half years at Main Street Grille in North Canton, is proud of her signature drink, the French Kiss Martini.

“A lot of people think they don’t like gin until they try this,” said Fedorovich. “It’s a pretty, layered drink — purple on the bottom, yellow on top, and I usually garnish it with a lemon twist.”

• RECIPE •

  • 1-1/2 ounce Hendricks gin
  • 2 ounces Asti Spumanti
  • Juice of one whole lemon
  • A kiss (splash) of Chambord

Shake the gin and lemon juice with ice, strain into martini glass. Add champagne, then top with Chambord. Garnish with lemon twist.

If someone asks Tony Ly, owner of downtown Canton’s Basil Asian Bistro, to make an offbeat cocktail, “I’m willing to give it a try if I think I can come up with it,” he said. “I get some funny ones here and there.”

That’s what happened when a customer ordered a Toasted Marshmallow Martini . Here is Ly’s version.

And does it taste like a toasted marshmallow? “It’s pretty damn close,” he said with a chuckle.

  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1 ounce dark creme de cocao
