Rosie Fedorovich, a bartender for three and a half years at Main Street Grille in North Canton, is proud of her signature drink, the French Kiss Martini.

“A lot of people think they don’t like gin until they try this,” said Fedorovich. “It’s a pretty, layered drink — purple on the bottom, yellow on top, and I usually garnish it with a lemon twist.”

  • 1-1/2 ounce Hendricks gin
  • 2 ounces Asti Spumanti
  • Juice of one whole lemon
  • A kiss (splash) of Chambord

Shake the gin and lemon juice with ice, strain into martini glass. Add champagne, then top with Chambord. Garnish with lemon twist.

Tony Ly of Basil Asian Bistro with the Toasted Marshmallow Martini

If someone asks Tony Ly, owner of downtown Canton’s Basil Asian Bistro, to make an offbeat cocktail, “I’m willing to give it a try if I think I can come up with it,” he said. “I get some funny ones here and there.”

That’s what happened when a customer ordered a Toasted Marshmallow Martini . Here is Ly’s version.

And does it taste like a toasted marshmallow? “It’s pretty damn close,” he said with a chuckle.

  • 1-1/2 ounce Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka
  • 1/2 ounce RumChata Cream Liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce Disaronno
  • 1/2 ounce Kahlua
  • Cinnamon

Shake the four liquids with ice, strain into martini glass. Top off with cinnamon.

Correen McMahan, bartender at downtown Canton’s Picciano’s Martini Lounge, says creamy drinks with chocolate are especially popular during the cold-weather months.

This winter, she’s created the French Cocoa Cake Martini.

“We invent a lot of drinks here,” she said. “If someone tells us a flavor they like we can usually throw something together.”

  • 1 ounce Chambord
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1 ounce dark creme de cocao
  • 1-1/2 ounces half and half Hershey Kiss

Shake with ice, strain into glass and garnish with a Hershey Kiss.
