THIS IS DOWNTOWN!
Downtown Canton, featured in our July 2010 issue, continues to surprise. Newer eateries as diverse as Basil,Thatsa Wrapp, Sheri’s at Shears and The Lion’s Den now have thriving lunch businesses. The Auricle concert club, Buzzbin Music Shop and Frankenstein have brought a jolt of rock ‘n’ roll. There’s an array of theatrics at the Kathleen Howland Theatre, and a parade of locally-produced visuals at The Hub, Thirteenth Floor, Evolution Art and other galleries. First Friday, Canton Farmer’s Market, Canton Blues Festival and Taste of Canton are crowd magnets.

THERE’S A WINERY IN CANTON?
Gervasi Vineyard & Italian Bistro opened in March 2010 and quickly became the city’s hottest destination. Gervasi sits on a beautiful 55-acre property that includes more than five acres of grape vineyards. Gervasi has grown considerably since it opened, with the debut of the luxurious Villa Hotel Suites and now the anticipated opening of The Crush House winery, wine bar and eatery this summer. The only agriculturally-zoned location in the city, Gervasi is a go-to spot for weddings and events. Gervasi is owned and operated by the Swaldo family.
