The breakfast-brunch menu at Samantha’s Restaurant in Jackson Township is unusually vast and diverse, with Mexican and Mediterranean-themed items; heart-healthy, vegan and gluten-free options; and over-the-top indulgences.
If you’re craving something, Samantha’s probably has it. Bloody Marys, too.
A notable sweet treat, well-paired with a cup of full-bodied coffee, is Samantha’s stuffed French toast ($7.29). Golden slices of French toast—made with Texas toast dipped in a fresh-made batter—are spread with housemade strawberry cream cheese, layered with fresh strawberries, blueberries and blackberries and finished with a cinnamon glaze.
“It’s real simple but sometimes simple is best,” said Douglas Panzarello, Samantha’s chef. “You definitely have to have a sweet tooth for it. It’s a top seller. Sometimes a whole table will order it.”
A similar option is Fuji apple-stuffed French toast, with cinnamon-apple cream cheese, baked Fuji apples and sliced bananas.
