“Have a career as a preschool or kindergarten teacher and to be active in my church youth ministry. I want to live in Hawaii, where I was born, and work, marry and raise a family. I love the ocean and would be in it daily. I’d like to learn to surf!”
Natasha definitely likes to keep busy. The GlenOak High School sophomore maintained between a 3.7 and 4.0 GPA throughout her freshman year. Her science fair projects have been rated Excellent or Superior at District Science Fair the past three years. She received a special award from the American Chemical Society for her project in 2012. Outside of school, Natasha is a dancer and performs with Plain Local’s Enrichment Dance program. She is active in the Cathedral of Life Church youth group called Elevate, a praise dance team called Cadence and volunteers in the infant nursery. Natasha is also active in main stage, family arena and summer workshops at The Canton Player’s Guild — and played the role of Annie in Glenwood Middle School’s 2012 musical.
“Natasha is one of those unique kids that is both a free-spirit and a deep thinker. Her excitement and enthusiasm for life is contagious,” said Joseph French, her nominator. “I have been amazed at her dedication to school and the arts while excelling at both. She is successful at everything she attempts because she is determined to be the best that she can be. Natasha is her own person, and the world is — and will continue to be — a better place because of her!”
