The event Under the Lights kick-started the Stark County Hunger Task Force’s first campaign—The Hunger at Home Campaign—in June at Hoover Park, to respond to the increasing need for its pantry. In just four years, the Stark County Hunger Task Force has experienced an 80 percent increase in services. The goal of the campaign is to increase awareness of the reality of hunger in Stark County.
Under the Lights highlighted the statistics of hunger in Stark County and the need for the community’s support. About 150 people gathered to help the cause by financially contributing to the fight against local hunger. With one in four children hungry in our community, the Stark County Hunger Task Force needs to respond big and offer a solid, nutritious supply of emergency groceries to those in need.
