Karri Fedor & KEROSENE | Hot Rockers

Now back home, Fedor’s voice draws a crowd as the lead singer of Canton band Karri Fedor & KEROSENE.

Karri-Fedor-and-Kerosene-PolaroidKarri Fedor learned from some of the best: Pat Benatar, Patsy Cline and Janis Joplin.

As a kid, Fedor, now 35, would sing along with them on the radio again and again until she got it right.

She never had any formal training, but at about 18 or 19, Fedor was singing karaoke with a friend when people started encouraging her to sing on her own. She took their advice and started traveling, singing in contests in Nevada, Florida and Tennessee, and making it to the top 15 on the reality show “Nashville Star.”

Now back home, Fedor’s voice draws a crowd as the lead singer of Canton band Karri Fedor & KEROSENE.

The band describes itself as a “rockin’ hillbilly blues band,” and covers everyone from Guns N’ Roses to Adele.

“We have a very talented lineup, so it allows us to basically do anything,” Fedor said. “We’re not stuck in a box because we’re able to pull most anything off.”

Fedor’s personal favorite—“Me and Bobby McGee” by Janis Joplin.

“Everybody has a Bobby McGee,” she said.

KEROSENE has a devoted fan base that can get pretty crazy some nights. Fans also have supported the band online, voting it into the top spots in area competitions.

“They do right by me. I appreciate them,” she said.

The band’s next step is moving into original music, a big step for a cover band.

“I like doing what I do, and I hope to continue doing it for more and more and more people,” Fedor said.

“As I grow, I hope everyone else grows with me, and we can just keep doing what we’re doing.”
