Art Teachers’ Invitational
Head to the Studio M Gallery inside the Massillon Museum from 6 to 8 p.m. for an opening reception of the Art Teachers’ Invitational exhibit.

First Friday
First Friday begins with a First Stop at the Canton Museum of Art at 5:30 p.m., followed by the event downtown from 6 to 10 p.m. The theme for November is Dia de los Muertos. The free First Friday family movie at the Canton Palace Theatre is “The Book of Life.” It starts at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Do the Mu!
Do the Mu! is the first Saturday of every month. Drop in at the Massillon Museum any time between noon and 2 p.m. for a different art and history workshop taught by local artists or museum staff. No registration is required, and it’s free for all ages.

MasterWorks: an all-Tchaikovsky evening
Head to Umstattd Performing Arts Hall from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. to enjoy the sounds of the Canton Symphony Orchestra.

Three Stooges Film Fest
Enjoy four Three Stooges film shorts, and join in the Curly Shuffle competition during intermission. Featured short films to be announced. The films will run from 7:30 to 9 p.m., with doors openings at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $6.

Dancing with Canton’s Stars
Head to the Canton Palace Theatre from 7:30 to 11 p.m. for the seventh annual Dancing with Canton’s Stars show, where dance instructors are paired with local stars in a ballroom dancing competition for the coveted mirrorball trophy. 

November 12
World War I: A Theatrical Review
Experience the human hardships and triumphs of World War I in a patriotic program that includes poetry, a dramatic play, music, a reunion and more. The movie will be playing from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Theatre in Massillon. Admission is $5.

ConverZations: The Secret Gift: Setting the Story to Music
Enjoy this free concert from noon to 1 p.m. at Zimmermann Symphony Center.

November 15
Inspired by Pop Up Chorus in Durham, N.C., SingStark! is a no-commitment, no-audition chorus that meets every third Wednesday at the Canton Brewing Co. Speakeasy in downtown Canton. P.J. Chavez, musician and educator, leads SingStark attendees each month in singing two popular songs. You will learn the songs and then perform them. The singing starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 9:30 p.m.

Elijah Pierce: An American Journey
“An American Journey” explores the work of Elijah Pierce (1892–1984). Pierce was a prolific African American wood carver known for his brightly painted sculptural panels illustrating biblical stories, moral lessons, historical events and images from popular culture. The exhibit will focus on 40 major works. See the exhibit at the Canton Museum of Art.

Elf Jr. The Musical
After sold out performances in 2015, this popular Christmas show about your favorite elf, Buddy, returns to the North Canton Playhouse Main Stage. Follow Buddy the Elf as he embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Check the site for showtimes and ticket prices.

December 8-10
The Nutcracker
New York City Ballet soloist and Canton Ballet alumnus Zachary Catazaro returns to the Palace Theatre stage for The Nutcracker. There will be four performances. Check the site for show times and ticket prices.
