Ominous storm clouds moved across a softball field during the third annual Wooster Fastpitch Classic in Shreve last spring. Spectators, players and coaches spent more time looking skyward than at the softball diamond as thunder echoed in the distance. Play was halted immediately after this play in the top of the fifth inning of a game between the Erie Frost and the Summit Storm. My daughter, Keirsten Heckel, plays left field for the Storm.
