Little did we know that the clear skies and sunshine, which welcomed baseball fans to the ballpark, would give way to dusk and eventually night before the annual rite of spring was settled. The game would continue for another four hours and 17 minutes after this picture was taken to become the longest Opening Day game in Major League Baseball history.The 16-inning marathon, which lasted a total of five hours and 14 minutes saw the Tribe lose 7-4.
