Julie Botos

Julie Botos is a graduate of Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in Photojournalism. She has worked as a staff photographer with The Repository since 1998, where she has photographed everything from presidents to rock stars, from births to deaths, from sports to crime and from the bad in people to the amazing in people—all of which she would not change for the world. She is married to Tim and has two daughters, Claire, age 10, and Lily, age 12.

Tim Botos

Tim Botos is a graduate of the University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree in mass media/communication. He has worked as a staff writer at The Repository since 1999. He has won 33 first- or second-place writing awards, and one of his stories appeared in Reader’s Digest. He is married with two daughters, ages 10 and 12. Outside work, he runs a 12 and under girls travel softball team. He also serves as athletic director and pastoral designee for Catholic Youth Organization athletics at St. Paul School in Akron.

Gary Brown

Gary Brown has written articles and columns for About periodically since the publication’s inception, including pieces on books, recreational sports and historical subjects. A columnist and staff writer for The Repository, Brown enjoys such outdoor pursuits as golfing, sailing, skiing, biking and hiking. An avid student of the arts, he also uses those activities to inspire watercolor paintings.

About advertising consultant
Breanna Caslow graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2008 with a communications degree and has been with The Repository for three years in the advertising department. She enjoys spending time with her husband of almost a year, and outside work, she is the head varsity volleyball coach at Coventry High School and coaches two traveling volleyball teams for Elite Sports.

been employed with The Repository since 1990. She is a nationally syndicated columnist with GateHouse News Service, and is a member of The Repository editorial board. She also is a seven-time Associated Press Best Columnist in Ohio. Dan Kane

Dan Kane is the entertainment editor for The Repository’s Ticket magazine, for which he writes about theater, movies, rock ‘n’ roll, art, classical music, dance, restaurants, festivals and everything else that’s going on. Growing up in Wooster, he always thought of Canton as “the big city.”

B.J. Lisko

B.J. Lisko is a designer/writer for The Repository’s Ticket entertainment weekly. He resides in Youngstown, where he has fronted rock band Turbo Lovers for the past 11 years. When he’s not working or gigging in area dives, he usually can be found on a golf course somewhere, berating himself.

Alison Matas

Alison Matas writes for The Repository, covering Canton City Hall. She grew up in Kent and has worked for newspapers in New York, Missouri, West Virginia and Maryland—and she’s happy to call Stark County her new home. When she’s not writing, she’s usually rehearsing for an upcoming musical or choir concert, going for a run or attempting to cook.

Todd Porter

Todd Porter has been writing about Stark County since 1991 and has covered everything from Ohio State football to Stark County business dealings. He frequently covers the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Malone University graduate lives in Plain Township with his wife Colleen and their three children Dylan, Sydni and Nathan.

Bob Rossiter

Bob Rossiter grew up in downtown Canton just blocks from the Palace Theatre and has spent his life in Stark County, 43 years of it as a staff photographer for The Repository. He has photographed every president from Gerald Ford to Barack Obama, every sport from Little League to the Super Bowl and World Series. Outside the office, his photography continues with weddings, travel and his two grandchildren.

Kelli Young

Kelli Young is an award-winning reporter who joined The Repository in 2003 and now covers the world of education. Outside work, you can find Kelli riding her bike along the Towpath Trail, playing sand volleyball, cheering for the Indians or happily spoiling her nieces, Mikayla and Charlotte, and nephew, Walker.
