Gallery 121 | September 2014 Notables

Gallery 121, which made its grand debut last month in downtown Massillon, is a virtual panacea of all of these faves rolled into one new hot spot.

If you’re a regular reader of About, you know one thing to be true: We love art. And food. And libations. And general good taste and style.

Gallery 121, which made its grand debut last month in downtown Massillon, is a virtual panacea of all of these faves rolled into one new hot spot.

The gallery’s opening exhibit featured work by Kent State University at Stark artists. But from what we hear from owner Andrew Oser, the sky’s the limit for future art installations—painting, sculpture, wearable art and more.

To call Gallery 121 a gallery almost seems a misnomer. The gallery features art, sure, but also a delectable menu of small, tapas-style plates (all the rage now), such as the Lobster Piadina ($12.95), a thin, Italian flatbread layered with garlic herb cheese spread, lobster and a signature bianco three-cheese blend and garnished with fresh, homegrown tomatoes, chives and a hint of lemon. Yes, please!

Gallery 121 also is hopping on board the craft cocktail train, including its own take on the Moscow Mule, the “121 Mule,” made with OYO vodka, ginger beer and fresh lime juice. An impressive craft brew list and wine is also available.

Gallery 121 is at 121 Lincoln Way W, Massillon. Hours are 4 to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday. Visit Gallery-121.com for upcoming exhibit info and a full menu.
