Nick and Grace Caley

Nick and I met when we both worked at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in
the summer of 2004 while on summer break from college.  I worked in
the box office and Nick worked in the gift shop.  We began dating at
the end of the summer and continued dating long-distance while I
attended the University of Notre Dame and Nick was at John Carroll
University.  We would see each other over holidays, summer breaks, and
would try to make additional visits when our schedules allowed.  Nick
graduated from John Carroll in May 2006 and began working as a
Graduate Assistant Football Coach at the University of Akron.  I
graduated from Notre Dame in May 2007 and began an accelerated nursing
program at Case Western Reserve University.  We were no longer dating
long distance!!  That did not last long, however.  Nick accepted a
Graduate Assistant coaching position at Auburn University in June 2008
and I continued my studies at Case Western.  After Auburn, Nick was
offered a position as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Iowa State
University in January 2009 while I remained in Cleveland, working at
the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital.

Finally, after dating for almost six years, Nick and I got engaged on
July 13, 2010.  After having a nice dinner at one of our favorite
restaurants, Nick took me to Gervasi vineyard (I had not yet been
there).  We walked along the lake to the pavilion and the whole time
I'm thinking "this would be a beautiful place for a wedding", I turn
around to tell Nick and he is on one knee!  We went to visit my family
(who knew all about the proposal long before I did!) and then Nick's
family (who had been trying to calm him down all day!).  Our extended
families celebrated the next night at Gervasi.  The week that Nick
proposed was the week that I had been planning to move to Iowa.  He
was back in Canton helping me prepare to move when he proposed.   Talk
about a big week!  Even though we had been talking about marriage
(after almost six years, it was to be expected!), the proposal came as
a complete surprise!  He even asked my parents for their blessing.  I
moved to Iowa and began wedding planning with much help from my Mom
and sister (wedding planning from a distance can be very complicated
if you don't have wonderful family that is very excited and willing to
help!).

Nick and I were married on June 25, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Chapel at Walsh University by Father Robert Kaylor (a long time family
friend).  Our reception was held at Brookside Country Club.  Terry
Horner of Terry Horner Photography was our photographer.  Our flower
arrangements were created by Barbatos Flowers.  The cake was from West
Side Bakery in Akron.  My maid of honor was my sister, Kate
Samolczyk.  Nick had two best men, both friends from high school, Mike
Dover and Anthony Reda.  We honeymooned in Key West, Florida.

Currently, I am working as a registered nurse at Blank Children's
Hospital on a general pediatric and pediatric oncology unit.  Nick
recently received his Masters from Iowa State University and is
seeking a college football coaching position.
