Gardening in style
By Lisa Reicosky | Photos By Julie Botos

Whether gardening is your stress relief or your passion, it’s sometimes fun to have those little extras — the icing — to make it even more pleasurable. Check out these products from local retailers to add to your gardening experience:

Coordinated gardening shoes and supplies.

For the stylish gardener, visit Target, at 5584 Dressler Rd. NW in Jackson Township, for garden shoes ($14.99), leather gardening gloves ($14.99), sun-protective floppy straw hat ($9.99) and this handy bag that includes several gardening tools and a kneepad ($24.99).

Steppingstones.

Create your own steppingstone with a kit ($19.99) from Joann’s Etc., at 5487 Dressler Rd. NW in Jackson Township. The stone forms come in a variety of shapes. Make them special with your child’s handprint or create unique designs with colored stones and stained glass.

Gazing ball.

The Wildlife Garden, at 4930 Portage St. NW in Jackson Township, has this glow-in-the-dark gazing globe for the garden. The 10-inch version shown is $47.95. The wrought-iron display stand is sold separately.

Garden rocker.

Available for $21.98 at Lowe’s, at 6375 Strip Ave. NW in Jackson Township, this seat allows the gardener to sit low to the ground without hurting his knees. A cushion is sold separately.
