High school sweethearts Geoffrey Rees and Elizabeth Floom were married May 28, 2011, after dating for more than seven years. Geoff’s mom introduced the couple to one another at a roller-skating party and they became close friends and started dating. They continued to date throughout high school and college. It wasn’t until after they obtained their degrees and secured jobs that they decided to finally tie the knot. They were engaged in January 2009 while on vacation with Geoff’s family in Florida. Geoff proposed on the beach at Captiva Island at sunset, with the ring held between two scallop shells found earlier by the couple. The pair were married on a beautiful day at Canton Grace Brethren Church, with a reception following at St. George Romanian Orthodox Church. “It is difficult to name one particular thing that was special about our wedding because the entire day was full of special moments and memories that we will remember for the rest of our lives,” Elizabeth said. “God has truly blessed us with each other and the love and support of our family and friends.”
