Cheryl Dannemiller has been a member of the Canton Chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association since 1994, just three years after the league was founded in Florida.

“It’s the largest women’s amateur golf association in the country,” Dannemiller said. “It’s about golfing and networking.”

Dannemiller owns the Mane Attraction hair salon in Massillon, but if she had to choose between scissors and golf club, there’d be no contest.

“I love golfing. It’s my favorite thing. I’d golf every day if I could,” she said.

With that attitude, it’s no surprise that Dannemiller serves as social and events chairman for the EWGA. We caught up with her just before tee time and threw these 10 questions at her.

1. Cart or caddy?
I walk. I like walking, like the exercise.

2. Movie you’ve seen more than five times.
“Wizard of Oz,” my all-time favorite.

3. Ever met a celebrity?
I was doing a hair show in Cleveland and got in the elevator and there were all these guys with long hair chatting with me, asking why I was there, and I told them about the hair show. The door opens up and there’s a guy standing there and he says, “Hey, aren’t you REO Speedwagon?” and they said, “Yes.” I had no clue.

4. Coffee or tea?
Coffee, black. Or a great cafe mocha.

5. First job?
J.C. Penney’s in downtown Massillon. Sales clerk. I was 16.

6. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
To transport myself in time. I’d love to go back, go forward. I would like to go back to the early 1900s. I love the clothes in that period.

7. Finish the sentence. If I were braver, I would … .
I’m pretty brave. I do just about anything.

8. What would you order for your last meal?
I’m not that big on food. I don’t live to eat, I eat to live. But I’ll say lobster. I like that.

9. If I said, “Sing something,” what would pop out?
Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York,” one of my favorites.

10. I hear you’re known for your golfing outfits.
Yes, I get teased about how I match, from my visor down to my golf shoes. I have 30 pairs of shoes. Hey, you gotta match! My motto is if you look good, you play better.
