Thinking about the beach? One of my favorite photos came together on the beach at the Royal Hawaiian Resort. While watching the sun settle over the horizon, I used a Nikon 500mm catadioptric lens that turned the ocean into a curtain of highlights. The rings, or “doughnuts” as they are called often, are made as the image bounces off mirrors inside the lens before passing into the camera.
