Last Look: Gulf sunset

This photo shot by Scott Heckel shows the sun dipping below the Gulf of Mexico, signaling the conclusion to another day in Clearwater Beach, Fla. The scene was witnessed from the dock of Jimmy’s Fish House and Iguana Bar, which attracts visitors from across the world for its famous sunset views. The Sunshine State’s coastline extends 1,350 miles, the longest in the contiguous United States.

Last Look: Clearing the air

What can be more fun than Fourth of July fireworks? Cannons! The big guns were brought out by several collectors to celebrate last year’s concert “A Monumental 4th.”The cannons were fired during the 1812 Overture performed by the United States Army Field Band at the McKinley National Memorial.
