In conjunction with the VFW, the Girl Scouts of America and Boy Scouts of America and various community partners, the Field of Honor recalls the sacrifice of our service men and women and those in civil service, such as firemen and police officers. Through the Colonial Flag Foundation, individuals may purchase an American flag with accompanying card with the name of one individual being honored. All flags will be delivered and displayed on the southwest grounds of the Armstrong Museum. At the conclusion of the display, flag owners may pick up their flags. Flags: $30 each. The Armstrong Air & Space Museum, in conjunction in with the Wapakoneta Chamber of Commerce, hosts the annual Summer Moon Festival to commemorate the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing. Enjoy rides, games, entertainment, activities, rocket launches and more. Time Warner Cable and various community organizations sponsor the entire event. The evening culminates on the museum's lawn with a concert by the Danger Brothers. Guests should bring a lawn chair or blanket for the concert. Museum admission: $8/adults, $4/youth (ages 6-12).
