wedding_chemistryJulie Siller and Jason Brand met online in the summer of 2010. For their first date, they decided to meet at a dog park with their dogs — Julie has a black Lab/chow mix named Ace and Jason has a LhasaPoo named Teddy. The pair continued to date for about a year and a half until Jason proposed on Christmas Eve 2011. “Our theme movie is “Up,” because at the end of his first correspondence with me, he wrote, “I’m just looking for my own Ellie,” Julie said. So it shouldn’t have been a surprise that to propose, Jason put the ring in the weight tied to the bottom of a bunch of colorful balloons. They were married Dec. 31, 2012, at the Canton Club Event Center — and rang in the new year celebrating with their family and friends. For their unity ceremony, the couple opted to conduct a chemical ceremony. Jason, a chemistry teacher, set up the experiment so that Julie’s purple chemicals and his blue/green ones would turn clear when poured together into a larger boiling flask. Julie and Jason are planning a summer honeymoon to Algonquin Provinvial Park, Toronto and Niagara Falls.
