Secrets, secrets, secrets! Everybody wants to know them, but nobody wants to dish theirs. I’ll let you in on a little secret. This issue has been the most difficult issue to put together. I’m not sure about you, but whenever I learn something new and exciting, I want to tell everyone about it. That’s how I feel about every issue of the magazine, but especially this one.

You may not realize it, but we work about two months in advance. When we’re writing stories, capturing photos and designing layouts, I always want to post our exciting news on social media. I can’t give everything away, so I try to give little hints here and there. It’s harder than you might think.

This issue was especially hard to keep a secret. After learning the secrets to making the best martini, living healthier and learning how to shop flea markets like a pro, I wanted to share the news with everyone! That was back in April. I’ve waited patiently for almost two months to share the news.

And I’ll let you in on a personal secret. I’m not a patient person. When executive manager Jess Bennett and I were photographing barbecue sauce in the office on a rainy April day, I wanted to post a pic to Instagram. Jess reminded me that doing that would tease you guys since the issue wouldn’t come out for another two months. So I waited … against my will!
