The McKinley National Memorial is the final resting place for William McKinley, the 25th president of the United States, and his family. Looking up toward the magnificent dome created his graphically pleasing image. Few know that the structure is a double-dome and double-wall construction. The historic landmark measures 50 feet across and rises 77 feet from its marble floor. Originally installed as clear glass, the current Photo red, white, and blue skylight was set into place during a 1976 restoration project. September is the 110th anniversary of the present’s death.
